Corners of my room

nest was created because of my love for anything second hand or vintage, I think i have inherited this lifestyle from my mum and dad. My mum can't pass a skip without jumping out and having a good rummage, and my dad loves restoring furniture and collecting drift wood on the sea shore. So here are a few photos of my own treasures. I don't have a house of my own yet, so nest a house of vintage finds allows me to enjoy buying lovely items to sell on to others who have a nest that is all theirs! I will just have to stay in my shared rented nest a little longer!

Pokesdown Womble

Saturday morning I woke up slightly hungover from a gig the night before, but excited by what treasures I might find in Pokesdown vintage quarter. My friend Maria has recently moved to the area and invited me round for breakfast and what we have nicknamed a womble around the shops. It was a lovely morning bumbling from shop to shop, usually I'm looking for items for the stall but I thought i'd treat myself, ironically all my items are cosy winter clobber but summer looks like it may never get here!

Books on the wall

On Sunday I took a stroll with friends down to the river with their kids to feed the ducks. In the village high street lives a lady who without fail lines her garden walls with books all for 50p, raising money for the RUH. I wish I had taken a photo now, I will do next time! Here are the books I found for nest; a Pelican book on Badgers (a library essential! ) and this lovely book called The Home Counsellor guiding you through any of life's woes from problems of a house owner to maintenance of relatives. Leafing through just now I found a draft of a letter from somebody called Gilbert giving tenancy notice for the 14th of July 1941! That's almost 71 years ago to this day, on page 63 I found the template they used!

nest a house of vintage finds has hatched!

It has been some time coming but nest has finally hatched!

On the 17th of June after months of magpie carbooty forages I set up my first stall at the Bath homemakers vintage fair at Bath racecourse. It was great fun, we met some lovely stall holders and customers, and I'm very much looking forward to more pop up stalls in the summer. I will use this blog to keep you updated with my house sale/booty finds and daily treasure hunting! x
